Art, motherhood and the EarthFlag
The art of connecting people
“This reality is what we create, is what we build together to be part of a bigger picture”
Silvana Araoz Fraser is a Colombian artist that has been living in Amsterdam for 3 years. She is a mother of a 1 year old human and dedicates her talent to create amazing illustrations. When her son was born she challenged herself to create one illustration a day. So far she has made more than 365 beautiful drawings that narrate her journey through the incredible adventure of raising a child in the middle of a pandemic. Away from her beloved ones but with a supporting group of female artists that empower each other through creation and beauty. She started a monthly event called “Ladies drawing night” where different women with all kinds of talents and backgrounds come together to express themselves through art. They define a topic, select a text related to it and share an intention. Hereby allowing art to be the common link that creates a new perspective about each topic. She decided to use the EarthFlag as a symbol to be present in those gatherings as a reminder that all we do, think and say is interconnected.
