The Blueprint
A proposal for the flag of planet Earth
The EarthFlag’s design was inspired by the cosmos and planet Earth. In a universe where everything is connected, ‘life’ is the one attribute that makes Earth unique. All rights to the EarthFlag design have been granted to the commons by its creators under the CC0 dedication. It can be used without any limitation by any-body and claimed by no-body.

Symbol
The symbol on the EarthFlag is the Seed of Life. It’s an ancient universal symbol that can be found in many cultures around the world. It is considered to be part of sacred geometry.
Seed of Life
The Seed of Life represents unity in eternal change. It reflects the creation of the universe and the expansion of consciousness. It is encoded in all that exists, a reminder that everything is interconnected.
Color
Blue represents the sky, the sea and everything in between. It also is the color that is associated with unity, trust and peace. The color of the EarthFlag is called EarthBlue.
EarthBlue
The color blue of the EarthFlag is based on the 29% land (green) and 71% water (blue) composition of the Earth’s surface, coded into the RGB color code as 0,74,181.
Proportion
Flags around the world have different ratios and proportions. We chose the golden ratio as it can be found in many patterns in nature and has been used by humans for their own creations.
Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio, also known as the irrational number Phi, is derived from the Golden Rectangle. For practical purposes the ratio of the EarthFlag is 8:5.

In June 2018, the crew of Infinity embarked on an incredible journey through the Northwest Passage to help spread the message of global unity. These heroes have raised the EarthFlag on the Arctic ice on September 21st, known as the international Day of Peace.

We will promote the global voluntary adoption of the EarthFlag by anyone on planet Earth, by supporting people in projects that add to its legacy and adoption.

A solid foundation
The EarthFlag organization
Founding
EarthFlag Foundation was registered on September 12, 2019. It is a symbolic act of love to unite humanity, not connected to any political party, vision, statement or legal claim.
Organization
The organization is run by volunteers who believe in the EarthFlag as a symbol of global unity. They take responsibility for activities to promote the EarthFlag and its legacy.
Governance
Board members of EarthFlag Foundation are Kees Zegers, Clemens Oestreich and Chiel Liezenberg. They do not receive any remuneration other than a compensation for actual expenses.
